MJFNC Team Policy

Montmorency Junior Football Netball Club (MJFNC) is a community-based Club with the goal to provide a platform for children to play competitive football from the ages of seven through to seventeen, in a safe and friendly environment. We aim not only to develop each player’s football skills, but also to maximise their personal growth both on and off the field.

Decisions are always made in the best interest of the club first.  Notwithstanding, to operate and achieve outcomes in the est interests of the club there must be a focus on the individual and team from the bottom up.

The Club’s team selection approach will take into account:

  • Player Development: ensuring each player is supported in building their skills and confidence.
  • Team Balance: creating line-ups that are competitive while giving all players the opportunity to contribute.
  • Commitment & Effort: recognising attendance at training, attitude and a willingness to listen and learn.
  • Club Vales: fostering team work, sportsmanship and respect at all times.

Selections are made in consultation with the Football Director, Independent Selectors, and in line with the MJFNC Player Development Policy – with the aim of giving every player, a positive experience while also preparing the group for the season ahead.

Team numbers will be guided by the by-laws of the Northern Football Netball League (NFNL).  However, the final determination of team size rests with the Club in consultation with Footy Director and the coaching group.

Should you have any queries regarding team selection, please contact the MJFNC Football Director, Ben Broadbent (benbroadbent42@mjfnc.org.au)
